Clinical Performance

SRSL is commissioned by The Ambulance Team who contract ambulance services on behalf of Te Whata Ora, Te Aka Whai Ora, and ACC.

SRSL is fully committed to Te Tiriti O Waitangi regarding achieving equitable health outcomes for all who require air ambulance services.  We fulfil our contractual obligations to The Ambulance Team by submitting regular performance and adverse events reports.

The Health Quality and Safety Commission NZ(HQSC) outlines guidelines for adverse events using Severity Assessment Code (SAC) scoring. Based around this SRSL has implemented a robust internal auditing process to identify any instances of patient care not being delivered to the standard we expect.  Externally our paramedics are accountable to the Health and Disability Commissioner (HDC), HQSC, and Te Kaunihera Manapou NZ Paramedic Council.

Proactively in pursuit of improving patient outcomes, SRSL seeks to provide the best possible emergency care to all New Zealanders, and our Critical Care Paramedics regularly participate in continuing clinical education, regular case reviews, and Simulation exercises. SRSL has representatives on the National Ambulance Sector Adverse Incident Review Group, and the National Ambulance Sector Clinical Working Group.
